I Like your profile picture. Very cute kitty.
I moved to California in December. I'm hoping to find work here and I'm grateful to have missed all the snow they got in Seattle.
It's been an adjustment being in CA but the winter is somewhat similar to Seattle when it's not snowing - grey skies and rain. (It's the rainy season here.) In the summer I guess the temps can go over 100 so that's nothing I'm looking forward to. I guess I'll just have to adjust like everyone else.
Carol, do you belong to any paranormal research groups?

Earlier today, Pembroke Pines based Production Company PAS Media, Inc. announced its slate of projects for the first half of 2009. Principle shooting on the big screen adaptation of the popular novella “Secrets Kept” will begin in December 2008 and continue into the next year. Principle shooting on the motion pictures “A Killing Star” and “Rest In Peace” will follow shortly thereafter. These three productions are expected to pump more than $75,000,000.00 into the South Florida economy in one year alone.
Details about the internationally renowned cast of “Secrets Kept” and news about the soundtrack recording will be announced in the coming weeks.
President of PAS Media Timothy Arnwine said, “We anticipate hiring approximately 200 local workers in various capacities including crew, talent, catering, and office personnel. Our goal is to create major theatrical motion pictures but at the same time to bolster the local economy of our own hometown.”
“We are thrilled to have the opportunity to bring projects of this scope and magnitude to South Florida. Once everything is fully funded, the productions will get underway with location shoots throughout Broward and Miami-Dade” added Vice-President of Production Bob Ramos.
In addition to “Secrets Kept,” “A Killing Star,” and “Rest In Peace,” PAS Media, Inc. currently has four television pilots under contract, all of which will bring added exposure to the South Florida film industry. According to Vice-President of Development Bill Metz, South Florida is ideal for film and television production. PAS Media is creating both English and Spanish television programming.
In a related matter, Bill Metz also announced today that it has implemented the first phase of the company’s long range plan to build a large scale fully functioning production studio in South Florida. “A major studio facility can catapult South Florida into the next level of movie making and turn the region into another Hollywood, CA. PAS Media will not only provide studio space, but will offer equipment rentals and other support services to boost the entertainment industry as a whole,” said Metz.

Things are going well. We're preparing for 90+ temps today which is unusual for us. The weather man says we'll probably break some records. I left the house early this a.m. to run errands so I wouldn't be outside at the peak of the day.
