I know this will sound odd but I can smell aromas about me that are not attributed to to the normal plants flowers etc. Does anyone else experience them ??
Yes, I have experienced this often over the years. I can only attribute it to spirits trying to get my attention. One time, years ago, I was sitting in the living room when suddenly the strong smell of freshly dug dirt filled the room. I perceived the father of a friend who had died and whose funeral was in progress at the time. They wanted to get a message to my friend. When I agreed to relay it, they and the smell disappeared.
I have smelled pipe smoke, perfume, various flower odors, etc. They all seem related to a spirit trying to get my attention. It is one means they have, that is fairly easy to do, to alert us to their presence.
Thank you for getting back to me . Sometimes it is quite odd like the smell of burning paper or some strange perfume. At other times I can smell perfume like my grandmother wore and the smell of earth. Its quite prevalent at times. I also smell home baked bread and cakes, even though I havnt made any for several weeks. The smell of my grandmothers perfume or her smell if you understand was with me for several weeks before my mother went into hospital. Was she trying to tell me something?? I had an dear uncle who used to smoke little panatellas and i loved the smell and sometimes I get a whiff only occassionally though. I wish I couls see them.
Hey! I have experienced smells also. Mostly flowers and the smell of smoke. But dont be discouraged if you are having smells most likely one day you will be able to see them. Thats how it progressed for me. It started with smells.
It is not common with me. But it does happen to me. I was at a hotel recently where I could not stand being in one room. There was a horrible odor that burned my nose. No one else was affected by it. I kept checking my nose for a nosebleed it was that kind of a sulfur/iron like smell. It has occurred at other times too but this instance is the most fresh in my mind to share with you.
I have a friend who has the ability to smell certain things that to me I can't smell. We were on an investigation recently of an old quaranteen station which was used over 150 years to isolate people who had come off the ships and who may have had some decease. Many died but others joined the general community after a period of isolation and being cleared of decease. During the investigation while we were in the kitchen area my friend got an overpowering aroma of lamb stew cooking. At the time there was no cooking going on and I smelt nothing. He also felt a presence in the room.
